Biggest pet peeves (because no one asked):

  1. Know-it-alls: people who think they know everything and speak matter-of-factly.

You know these people. Everything you say is either wrong or could be criticized, and what they say is actually a more accurate understanding of a subject matter. Half the time, I find out these people are wrong. The other half, they just sound like assholes, and we just want to feel like they’re right about something.
  2. People who are willing to unchange their minds, unwilling to grow, or unwilling to change their ways for the betterment of themselves or for the people around them.

A growth mindset is a very, very important value of mine that I cannot let go of, because at the point where you stop growing is the point where you npm run dev dying. Nobody in this life knows everything, and without having a growth mindset, I don’t see what the point of your life is. That growth must continue throughout all your life, even when you’re old, because at the end of the day, again, we don’t know everything. Sometimes the people who come in and out of your life will either make you better or just annoy you.
  3. Lastly, people who convince themselves that their discomfort is also your discomfort.

I feel like people have a lack of humility to understand that the world does not revolve around their emotions. Just because I am hot, or just because I’m hot, doesn’t make the people around me feel like they’re hot, or just because I feel a little bit nervous doesn’t mean everyone else is nervous. What I do not live vicariously through other people. I live my own life, and people who think that everyone else thinks the same way they do are very close-minded. It just goes back to the growth mindset as well as the know-it-all.

This is the trifecta of an insufferable person.

They are difficult to talk to, difficult to understand, and difficult to relate with.

People can have one or two of these, I may be able to get along with you okay, but I won’t be a good friend of yours. I’ll probably avoid you as much as I can.

All three of them? Then I can’t help but have disdain towards you. I’ll avoid you at all cost.

As a Christian, it’s hard to love these kinds of people. But at the same time, are we not unlovable as well. Christ died for the unlovable just as much as those who are more likely to be “loved.”

To a holy and perfect God, we are enemies.

So as much as I absolutely abhore these characteristics, I know that I am imperfect in so many ways.
