I’m certain God is urges us to wait. I know He is quietly begging us to just hold steady while He works His plans for us.

As a parent, I urge my daughter to be patient during our drive because if she is, she’ll eventually find out that I’ve taken her to her favorite indoor playarea.

I can tell her all I want, put on her favorite songs, give her a snack, but she won’t believe me until she gets there because in the moment, the pain of being in the car supersedes anything else in her life.

She feels like she’ll be in that car forever, but it’s only ten minutes. A blimp in time is like an eternity for her.

God calls me to be patient, all the time. I am no different than my daughter when I’m crying in the shower, burdened by life. My version of kicking and screaming is feeling sorry for myself, wishing to be dead and complaining about my life.

Yet time and time again, I’ve seen God come through.

I saw God work was when my brother couldn’t find a job, I leaned on God. I could almost hear His voice telling me that He will find a job for my brother and he will live in Texas with me.

One of the more difficult times of trusting God was when I lost my job in 2025.

God was telling me to hold on, wait, in a moment you’ll have a job that you never thought you’d dream of.

Trusting God requires patience. He wants us to succeed, to be taken care of.

And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Matthew 6:28-30 ESV
